Above, we’ve got the latest from Brandon Jovan, “Reap What You Sow.” The way he spoke to me about this one was that it was inspirational healing music for the younger generation. With some of the negativity out there, I feel this generation needs that sort of positivity more now than ever (or maybe I’m just seeing it from an elder statesman’s point of view; nevertheless, souls always need nourishment). With that in mind, I totally get that vibe throughout the two-minute track where the rhymesayer evokes both Meek and Kendrick at once.
That is, between his flow, his lyrics and the conviction with which he delivers his lyrics, we get an idea of what a younger combination of the aforementioned legends would sound like. He’s hungry and still has room for growth, yes. However, the foundation is there for what could be a long career as another voice for the voiceless. It’s a solid track and it leaves me fulfilled while still wanting more. All in all, I don’t think I could ask for a better debut on SOTBMusic. Check out the track above and remember to support dope music in all its forms.
This track is definitely a banger for real. Great review.
