As mentioned in my piece on Brain’s “Roller Coaster,” he’s been on a different vibe for this project. Keeping the bars dope, Brain flows over a track that offers some cautionary advice to those in his way. “Protect Your Neck” is held together by a brass-and-harp-heavy production from Steven Padilla, which allows the DMV native to sound menacing while also sounding like a young man offering simple advice.
