New SOTBMusic: Spree Wilson Undertakes His Own Champagne Supernova

As you may remember from my J dot days, I love Oasis. “Wonderwall” and “Champagne Supernova” are still my jams, to this very day. So, imagine my joy when I got an email detailing Nashville-born, Atlanta-residing artist Spree Wilson covering the aforementioned “Supernova.” Now, Wilson’s been everywhere, and his boombap soul cover of Oasis is no exception.

It’s great and fun. It’s refreshing to hear the song performed in another way outside of the Gallagher Brothers’ emotionally-heavy Britrock approach. However, there are levels and layers to Wilson’s visuals. I won’t give anything away, but not everything is as bouncy as it seems–just like the original track. Check it out above and remember to support dope music in all its forms.
