Like Nelly’s early fascination with cornrows and manicured toes, I’m a sucker for dope posse cuts. Hell, posse cuts with DAR Elite are one of the reasons why I still record music. Florida nonet (which is a fancy way to say “group of nine artists”–allegedly) seeyousoon gets the point of a posse cut: highlight your members and just have fun with it–even if you’re spitting audio crack.

I got serious BROCKHAMPTON vibes hearing the group’s song, “Steamy,” featured above. The group, still in its infancy, was abrasive but still fun to see and hear. It would’ve been nice for viewers and listeners to get an introduction to which member is which. However, I like that we were thrown into the audio fire and left to fend for ourselves in a game of survival of the fittest. It made things more interesting.
