Prefuse 73 Remixes Golden Rules’ “Never Die” featuring Freddie Gibbs and Yasiin Bey

There’s not really much I can say about this one besides “the mellow instrumentation on this one helps highlights the lyricism that much more.” That’s not to say that the original version didn’t do this as well (it did), but I find myself loving this one for its instrumentation. It’s a bit more jazz-rappy than the original, which sits firmly within the boombap realm. All in all, though, either version kicks ass so you win either way. That said, give the remix a spin if you’re looking for some smooth vibes as this week comes to a close. Check out the remix that’s part of the Lex Records’ 20th Anniversary below and remember to support dope music in all its forms.
