Slitty Says You’ll Have to Pay Him for His Work

Above, we’ve got the latest from indie artist Slitty, “Pay Me.” To put it bluntly, it’s one of those songs that’s about getting as much revenue as possible for as much good music as possible. That’s partly because Slitty is positioning himself as a person who cares about the indie artist (because he is one) and partly because he’s offering conscious and “alternative” raps over mainstream beats. The beat sounds like something you’d hear Future slide on, but the bars feel like something Cole would spit. That juxtaposition helps make the song stand out from others of its ilk. Check it out and support dope music in all its forms. I mean, you never know where your new favorite will come from.
