Over a chill lo-fi-esque instrumental, Florida artist Vexed takes listeners on a tour of his mind. Specifically, he gives us a tour of his mind when it comes to members of the opposite sex. The beat helps set the mood up as being reflective and allows for bars such as “you’ve been Heaven for my eyes, but Hell for my soul” to effortlessly flow out to listeners’ ears. Lyrically and sonically, this one reminds me a great deal of a Mac Miller-esque song, down to the lyrical reflection done on it. If we didn’t know he spoke of a woman on this one, you could also make an argument that he’s using an extended metaphor with regards to his feelings about the rap game or even life itself.
This track appears on Vexed’s Pocket Raps. If you’re feeling the energies on this one, you should consider checking out its parent project. As for “With Me,” listen to the song below and remember to support dope music in all its forms.
