Niagara Falls rapper Jamal Gasol gives us a one-two punch on “Cataract City/Superior Man.” The artist, who’s been featured with Benny The Butcher on some tracks, first takes his listeners to his hometown and showcases why it could soon be a hotbed for talent. On “Superior Man,” the rapper dices up the soul sample beat to speak on his hustler’s ambition. If you’re a fan of Benny, this one will be right up your alley. If not, you’ll still find his hometown appreciation and lyrical abilities to be top-notch. The visuals for both cuts feature Gasol showing love to Niagara Falls, both the glitz and the blue-collar aspects, to help paint a picture of the town as being full of both character and grit. The duo of tracks are produced by Bass Reevez and will appear on the upcoming The Novelty of Standards EP, which will be available on Gasol’s Bandcamp this coming Friday. Perfect Black Friday gift for the hustle and flow lover in your life, if I can say so myself.
