Cali by way of Baltimore artist Lucky Woods hit my line with one of the tracks from his self-titled EP. I like that this one is mellow, but still prompts the listener to think about what’s being said. He states that he’s starting to find who he is as a person, which is something anyone can relate to. The production is solid as well, as it allows the artist to spit his soul without losing his soul. It’s a beautiful track, one that made me want to peep the rest of the EP. The EP, for me, is a great introduction to Lucky–especially since this is his first project. He doesn’t exactly sound like your typical Baltimore rapper, nor does he sound like an LA transplant. He’s got his own style and sound, one that’s captivating.
