The Main Squeeze Gives Soul to Getting to Know Someone on “Make It Right”

This one’s giving soul in all the right places, from the instrumentation to the funky bass solos to the vocals. It shouldn’t come as that much of a surprise, though; The Main Squeeze is an Indiana-based band who’s worked with talents such as 6LACK and provides a mix of genres through their stuff. On “Make It Right,” the group discusses a potential misunderstanding between lovers and wanting to get to know them better while, as the song says, making things right between them. I’m here for this sort of soul-funk, because it’s a beautiful mix of contemporary sounds and old-school energies. Plus, I’m a sucker for a good bass solo. Gimme a sick bass solo over just about any thumping 808 8/10 times (the other two out of ten times, I’m probably listening to Big KRIT or someone who gets beats that do both).
