Over a beautifully-crafted instrumental that brings to mind Mac with a bit of Cole and a smidge of Cordae, Barely True presents the smooth lovers’ anthem “yours!” I like this one because of its laidback demeanor and Trev’s lyricism. He’s witty but doesn’t try to beat you over the head with how witty he is. Instead, we get a song that features the artist just enjoying the idea of belonging to someone romantically. I also like it because it’s pretty clean and still manages to be quite lyrical in its approach. The video was a treat to watch, as it follows Trev as he’s seemingly getting ready for a date/actually on a date and matches the laidback vocals perfectly.
