Daniel in Stereo Presents a “Let Me Love You” Cover Unlike the Original

Mario’s “Let Me Love You” is one of my favorite early-2000s R&B songs. During the days of my crushes on certain high school folks, I had this one on repeat. Plus, Mario can sing and he’s from Baltimore. In other words, it was like the holy grail of early-2000s R&B. So when Daniel in Stereo hit my line with his cover of the song, I was intrigued. I didn’t know what to expect, because a lot of covers aren’t as good as the original song. However, this one? This one may surpass the original in some ways.

Daniel slows the song down and adds a sense of intimacy to it that was, admittedly, missing from the original. It’s definitely one of those songs that’ll get stuck with you, specifically because of its intimate element. I’d like to hear Daniel in Stereo cover a lot more 2000s R&B, truthfully.
