Danny Shin Presents “Baltimore”

Equal parts breakup anthem and unrequited love song, Danny Shin’s “Baltimore” is a tour de force of melancholy. Named after one of my favorite places and my hometown, Shin’s alt-R&B song captures the mixed emotions of the city while also capturing the mixed emotions of a dissolved relationship. From acceptance to happiness to sadness, Shin sings about it all throughout this three-minute-long song. It’s a simple premise: boy meets girl, girl breaks up and moves on, guy finds out and laments about both of their miscues. However, the way it’s executed is amazing.
