Not a full-on red flag, but definitely not a green one, this is a track about protecting oneself against foolishness when dating. For example, people who say they love you without really knowing you. Like, love at first sight is real…but it also has to foster from more than just a little bit of lust and “I like you.” At least go out a couple times, maybe talk for more than a few minutes at a time. Just saying.

Smith’s vocals are also a thing of beauty, as they’re old-school but also pretty modern as well. It’s a bit wild that this song came about from Smith getting into a “minor fender bender at a traffic stop.” Then again, when creativity strikes, you go full green with it.
