A blend of neo-soul, R&B and smooth vocals, Cindy Zhang’s “Far Too Close” reminds me a bit of a H.E.R. track, especially down to the production and vocals. I love that this is a collaboration between two incredible Asian-American artists who you can tell love the music they put out and the artform as a whole. A song from the Deluxe edition of Zhang’s Songs for Rainy Days project, “Far Too Close” features everything you could want from a vocalist and singer/songwriter. Powerful lyrics, incredible vocals, production that blends quite well with the themes of the track. Yeah, this is a dope track so…go do the thing and support dope music in all its forms.
