Maundre Speaks on His Journey on “Altered State”

Maundre (or M. Aundre) is a Santa Cruz-based artist. He’s making his SOTB debut with “Altered State,” a song about the past, present and future and how that’s shaped him. It also speaks on life as a whole as an indie artist with a vision. I’m also a fan of this one because it’s not a one-verse song. There are three incredibly solid verses about the topic, which is sometimes rare in 2023 hip-hop. No shade, though. I just love a three-verse song when it’s done well and this is an example of that. Here’s a bit of what Maundre had to say about the track:

This is a song that represents what I go through from time to time. I will talk about my past. Being careful with who/what you invest your time into. It’s about knowing there’s always room for improvement, no matter what level of the game you are at. All I know is to be me. I can’t be anyone else, and I don’t want to be.

If you’re intrigued by this, I suggest checking it out below and supporting dope music in all its forms. If his next drop(s) are anything like this, he’s going to become a mainstay on the site.
