I’ve a soft spot for writers who also write and record music, as they’re the ones who get it. They know how hard it can be to reject a song or have a song rejected. Shu frontman Bob Smith a/k/a the writer of The Static Dive music review site gets this very well and nicely. His group presents “The Disco Tune” as an earnest fun-time song. I love the funky melodies on this one, as it takes you on a genuine journey through time and space to say the group’s lead singer is a pretty great funky soul man.
