Above, we’ve got a lovely acoustic version of LO.’s “Weekend.” The song is one for those special someones who want to spend some time together. I absolutely enjoy the stripped-down instrumentation on this. It makes, for me, the song that much more sensual and sexy. It’s a perfect song if you’re trying to “get it in” (do people still say that?) with your special someone and just have them, like the HER song, “focus” on you. Vocally, she reminds me a bit of Aaliyah. I can’t really put my finger on why, but LO.’s vocals remind me of Aaliyah. That said, she’s definitely in some good company. The North-West London native has a rich voice and her songwriting skills exhibited show that she can make slow burners. Check out the track above and support dope music in all its forms.
