I really like this new cut from Switzerland-residing, American-born soul singer Reggie Saunders, the smooth “Baby Come On Home With Me.” Sonically, I really get Marvin Gaye vibes from it, mixed with a bit of Kem. From the vocals, the layering, the instrumentation, it really sounds Marvin-meets-Kem-esque. I mean that in the best way possible, because the song is a bop. It’s also one of those good ol’-fashioned love songs mixed with some “let’s get out of this crowded place and be intimate–and not just on the naughty naughty tip.” That’s because it’s a song that lets it be known that it’s a love song from the jump, nothing less.
Love is one of those things that makes you feel, well, all of the feels. That’s especially when things are going great (and even when things aren’t the absolute best). Love is incredible and it’s one of those things that’ll brighten up the darkest days. It’s a feeling that’s unlike any other, one that’ll make you feel like you’re flying and like you can do anything. If you want to hear a love song that’s a bit like those ones your parents (or grandparents) would play while cleaning/cooking/having a nightcap and you were supposed to be sleep, this one’s for you. Check it out below and support dope music in all its forms.
