WLFKT (pronounced “wolf-cat”) hit my line with his latest “Mojo Jojo,” and it resonated with me. If you know the Powerpuff Girls, you know that Mojo Jojo always gets his s*** rocked by the PPG on a very regular basis. WLFKT puts that feeling of hopelessness and “insanity is doing the same thing and expecting a different result” and applies it to his love live. The resulting song is equal parts homage to the ’90s-born franchise and a discussion on how KT sees his love life going. He seems to try his damnedest, but still ends up getting his mental and metaphorical ass beaten by love (or women that weren’t really on the same wavelength as him).

However, like Mojo Jojo, he keeps getting back up–and keeps fighting the good fight, living to see another day. That’s how you’ve got to be with love and romance. You can lose a battle, but that shouldn’t deter you from all battles, as each one can have a different outcome. Eventually, you’ll find someone who you vibe with and someone you can build with. Either that or you remain single and/or just forever be in your hoe phase. Whatever works for you, works. The point is that one of these days, your hard work will pay off, somehow.
