C. Shreve the Professor Says You Need to “Dip Dodge [and] Duck” the Foolishness

Over a classic-esque boombap beat from Frank the Phre$h, North Carolina artist (and SOTB favorite) C. Shreve the Professor’s “Dip Dodge Duck” started as a freestyle. As we all know as music fans, some of the best songs come from spur-of-the-moment lyrics. On the track (hereafter referred to in this post as “Triple D”), Shreve gives listeners crazy-but-intricate rhyme schemes while also speaking on growth, the state of the game and ways to avoid foolishness and strife in life. On top of that, he straight up lets it be known that sometimes you’ve got to move out the way to avoid getting knocked TF out.

It’s a vibe-heavy, lyrically-dope song that commands your attention. And yes, I’d say that if I didn’t know Shreve pseudo-personally. That’s because the brother has bars and obviously loves the art. That love comes out in every track he puts together, from the first one I’ve heard of his to “Triple D.” If you want some entertaining bars with a healthy dose of “real talk,” check this one out and support dope music in all its forms. Also, if you haven’t already, check out Shreve’s body of work; bro’s incredibly dope.
