A short-but-potent song, “Tek Buddy” finds the UK singer sexily singing about a beautiful woman he’s ready to give up a lot for (and, well, provide with a smashing that’s unlike any she’s had before). I’m here for the vibes–as well as the sensual visuals we get to the track. I’m also here for the mix between R&B with a bit of soul and Afrobeats on the song. I’m surprised that he didn’t go longer, only because the vibe here (and the content) is top-tier. It’s fun, sexy and breezy. In other words, it’s like a summer romance. Will Skeete be able to turn his summer love into a full-time thing, will they just be FWB who care about each other or will they just be f*** buddies? Either way, it seems that Skeete’s not deterred and will keep it pushing. I love that sort of bravado–especially when it sounds so smooth.

“Tek Buddy” appears on Skeete’s Vibes Don’t Lie project, which is full of similar songs–at least thematically similar. The project is one that’s also like a summer fling, except it’ll stick with you after Labor Day.
