“Summer is Hot with My Little Trans Lover” is a song that doesn’t hide its truth, and it’s exponentially better for it. The song is about Christa Couture giving props, praise and love to her partner while also creating “a non-binary ditty” for those who identify as they/them and may feel that there aren’t as many love songs for people who identify as such. The song took on its life because Couture’s partner referred to themselves as Christa’s “little trans lover” and, well, it’s a beautiful little track with a healthy helping of pro-love lyrics and vibes. I think what I love about this track, aside from its queer love and appreciation, is that it sounds very folky but also feels contemporary as well. This one was released during Pride Month, yes. However, its vibes and content are both evergreen. If you want a song that’s pro-LGBTQ+ while also being as inclusive as possible, this one’s for you. Check it out below and remember to support dope music in all its forms.
