I love when artists try to do something different with something already established. Without that sort of thing, the music we listen to on the regular wouldn’t have any differences. Furthermore, I’d be out of a side hustle. No one wants white-collar worker Speed 24/7, do they?
Norwegian group GiddyGang seem to understand this quite well. The diverse sounds in music part, not the “Speed quits SOTB to work work” part. The Vuyo-featuring “Believe It” is like a mix between G-Funk, neo-soul and boombap in the vein of legendary live multifaced combo groups like The Soulquarians. It blends a lot of styles and sounds together to create something that’s simple but effective. “Believe It” stands on a simple premise and sprays it over this excellently-done song.
That premise seems to be that the only way to go is up and the only thing to do is to do it) My only gripe is that it feels too short. However, even with the brevity of the song, “Believe It” doesn’t waste time or energy on unneeded things. That is always something I applaud. They took what they had, ran with it, and even managed to expand some minds along the way.
