Over about two minutes of lyrics, Zack Limitless makes two cases. First, he makes one on the importance of self-care, specifically in the first portion. The first component of the song features the rhymesayer The second portion, however, is the part which makes the other case. This section discusses that, while we are products of our environment, we all want the same thing. That same thing, of course, is the desire to further better ourselves and become better today than who we were yesterday. It’s a very reflective piece, one that will make listeners take inventory of what’s really important to them–and how they should go about getting it. Flow-wise and content-wise, the song takes a few cues from GKMC Kendrick in that it’s got a modern sound but knowledge that one can only can by experience (regardless of age). Additionally, the whole song feels like a discussion among peers (Zack and the listener), not a lecture of any kind.
I also love the fact that the song is clean. That’s because it’s one that should be shared with the young and the older. Life has a way of sometimes throwing us curveballs. However, it’s how we deal with them that’ll make us better people. Check out the song above and support dope music in all its forms.
