A song that celebrates the “joy and sensuality that comes from dance and movement, especially in Nigeria,” Vancouver-based singer/songwriter Sade Awele’s “Jo” has a lot of sounds intertwined, from neo-soul to reggaeton to afrobeat. This one is a track that makes you want to dance and enjoy the moment and just do what you feel. “Jo,” named after the Yoruba word for “dance,” is just lovely on a lot of levels.
That said, there’s no one part of this song that’s the only reason why I like this song.
