“Electric Blue” is a boombap-heavy rap song from Worms Ali, Mylo Stone and DJ Frenic (the producer of the track, with a sax assist from saxophonist Tom Parry who sets the mood perfectly). Throughout the track, we’re told that our lyricists had to let some people go, as they didn’t serve any sort of positive purpose. I relate to this one and held off on posting about it for a bit, because I wanted to get my anecdote and my feelings 100% correct.
“Blue” is mainly about “water under burned bridges,” and I experienced that firsthand this year. Instead of lamenting over the loss of that relationship, realize that you’re better off without it and keep it moving. The moodiness of the bars and instrumental, they allow for listeners to say “aight, I used to deal with so-and-so, but I just can’t anymore.” Growing up is full of tough decisions, including walking away from situations you grew up with. It’s never easy, but it needs to be done. Because of this, I feel the vibes and lyrics let people know that things are going to work out just fine. I also just enjoy the laidback nature of the hook. It’s melodic but still has moments that’ll make you think and act.
