Mak Ro and Jordan Occasionally Present “Just We”

While Summer is unofficially over, we’re still able to enjoy the vibes from the season a few more weeks. It could be because of the fact that I’m still in short sleeves and shorts in mid-September. It could be that summer vibes haven’t gone away just yet. Whatever the case, Summer seems extra long this year (in hot and good, and good and hot, ways). On “Just We,” duo Mak Ro team up with Jordan Occasionally to deliver a song “heavily inspired by conversations revolving around what it’s like to be a queer romantic.” Sonically, “We”–especially its instrumentation–reminds me of a mix between tropical sounds and contemporary R&B. Imagine Brent Faiyaz mixed with a bit of a sexy dancehall sound. The harmonies on this song are rich and they make you take further notice to the content. Said content is playful and flirty while giving us lyrics that match the rush of falling in love with someone. If you want to know what love feels like, check out this beautiful song below and remember to support dope music in all its forms.
