“Arkangel,” the latesst from Baltimore-centric artist 88moment, is a special song. It’s got to be considering the lo-fi trap-like track only lasts for about two minutes (and everyone knows how I tend to do shorter songs). I think it’s because of the atmosphere “Arkangel” creates throughout its short runtime. Self-produced by moment, this one finds our duo speaking on what it’s like to be someone who’s been all but forced to bear crosses of those around them. Instead of dwelling on the messed-up situation, moment and Morty! suggest that you run with that feeling of overbearingness and run with it. In doing so, you become stronger–even if you alienate those who used you as their one-sided crutch. Check this one out below and support dope music in all its forms. While 888’s tracks sometimes run short, the atmospheres created help push them over the edge for me.
