AY Young Has “GOALS” for the Future

I’m typically not the biggest fan of rock-tinged rap songs. Call it the Linkin Park effect. I grew up as a tween hearing a bunch of rock-rap, so I know the good ‘uns and the stinkers. AY Young’s “GOALS” is one of the good ones. The hip-pop artist blended call and response, afrobeat, conscious rap and a bit of pop rock to create this one. A track that’s focused on growing and achieving the wins you want to, “GOALS” is one of those tracks that may very well get stuck in your head. At the very least, it’ll give you a small dose of “I can do this” while listening and afterwards. Overall, it’s a song that finds the activist/artist giving us nothing but positivity and “a sense of hope that’s impossible to resist.” If you’re intrigued, I recommend not only checking the song out and supporting dope music in all its forms. I also recommend that you take a look at what else AY has done with his voice. Everyone has the power to enact change.
