Tre Houston, even when I decline a song, makes music that allows one to feel good while also entrenching themselves within a bevy of bars. Some of his tracks lean slightly pop production-wise, but he’s always on the ball when it comes to the bars. The celebratory “I’m Down” is no exception to this rule. The way that Houston and his producer Justin Busch blend genres is beautiful. It also shows that you can never judge a book by its cover.
