Artist Elaquent is back with his most-recent project, Rediscovery. Featuring artists ranging from Namir Blade to Skyzoo to Baltimore’s own John Wells, the beatsmith’s latest collection hits its mark every step of the way. On “Hoes Mad,” we get Elaquent crafting production that’s equally hard-hitting and positive. Featuring Jazstarr and Brittney Carter, “Mad” is one of those “screw the haters” tracks.

It also does more than just say “screw the haters.” Instead, we also get a song about doing one’s best even in the face of adversity. After all, if you can’t be your own cheerleader, who else will feel the need to cheer for you? Additionally, the song reminds us to never falter or switch up, even when people try to mess with you or attempt to manipulate your process and growth. Carter’s bars are incredible here, as the rhyme patterns (and what she’s putting down lyrically) will keep you enthralled with her every word.
