Limbo Days is “the brainchild of Elliot Gaspar” and based out of the UK. The sound we get, especially throughout “Love’s Out the Door,” is a throwback to slow rock and soul music of the ‘60s and ‘70s. It’s that music your grandparents (or, in some cases, parents) listened to.
As you all know, I’m typically a sucker for songs that remind me of something Mama Young would’ve played, Gordon’s Gin in one hand and a Salem 100 in the other. Yes, it seems stereotypical and cringe or whatevertheheck. However, that was how my mom relaxed: some time with me, then some gin and soul music after I went to my own room or whatever.
I say this to say music that reminds me of my youth always gets my attention. I also love the introspection and reflection given to listeners on “Door.” The blame game isn’t played, instead offering thoughts on the relationship while being as impartial as one could be in a story about them.
Check out the track below and support dope music in all its forms. If you’re wondering why this piece is a bit shorter, I let the track wash over me and just wrote what I felt.
