I fell in love with this one because of its vibe—and bassline. The fact that the lyrics make you want to dance and also find yourself a special someone is just an added bonus. As I’ve mentioned, I was born in 1988 but a lot of my musical taste comes from the late-60s and the ‘70s. What makes this one stand out is that it doesn’t try to “Uptown Funk” itself into a disco-esque track. No offense to Bruno Mars, mind you. However, that song could’ve used more actual singing (and less of the sing-rap a la Morris Day on a few of his classics).

Possible mainstream shade aside, this one is a bop. It’s a good “let’s play around until the main dish gets served” sort of sexy song. It doesn’t force its hand nor does it get weird. We just get a person who sees another person and thinks “damn, they’re sexy.
