Remnant of God is an artist who’s been through his fair share of addictions and less-than-blessed activities. On “Resurrection,” the artist speaks on his path, the traumas because of it and his own revitalization through the power of Christ. Now, I’ll be completely honest with you. I have premarital relations, drink, and partake in herbal refreshments. However, I feel that those things don’t need to be crutches for one’s inability to process trauma/pain/feelings. In fact, I believe that God can provide more solace and healing than any amount of liquor, sex or drug can (prescribed or otherwise). I don’t think I need to say that, given some of the things in my life recently, I’ve taken more inventory of things that are actually important.
That’s why this one speaks to me, because at the end of the day? Would you rather lie to yourself about your problems and have memories tarnished by not being able to say when? Or would you rather accept God’s love and realize that God doesn’t care if your problems seem “small,” as they’re still problems addressed by God. Essentially, what I’m getting at is this: I love the song from a sound level, I love the message from a spiritual level, And, I love that it’s not preachy in its approach. That’s often when I zone out of more spiritually-and-religiously-leaning songs, so props are definitely given for that. Check out the track above, remember to give God the glory and support dope music in all its forms.
