Amp Melo Cashes In on “Pay Day”

Good morning, everyone. Blessed is the day the Lord has made, especially because it’s Saturday. I’ve got some time to go through new music and pick out some of my favorite indie tracks from the past week for the next week. Let’s get into it.

Scarface, even with its flaws, gave us the line “all I have in this world are my balls and my word and I don’t break them for no one.” Amp Melo seemingly took this line to heart in his latest track, “Pay Day.” After all, Amp (f/k/a Amplified.) is in the middle of a career rejuvenation/reinvention. After switching the name up, the Santa Cruz native reminds us that he’s still the same person he’s always been. By mixing smooth Nate Dogg-esque vocals with a snappy flow, we get a song about my personal favorite day of the week. However, the song itself isn’t just about stacking money. Amp also uses the idea of pay day to discuss other riches people should strive for, such as mental fulfillment outside of your cashflow, love and good people and vibes throughout. It’s the perfect type of weekend-centric track you need when the weather’s warm and the energies are positive. Check it out below and support dope music in all its forms.
