Producer BP Infinite hasn’t fully been on my radar these days, but the gritty underground producer has an ear for dope sounds. I’ve had the chance to listen back to some of his productions over the last few days and I’ve got to say: he makes me almost want to dust off my laptop and start chopping samples again. Not too many folks make me want to pick up my pen. Even less make me want to pick up my beatcrafting and sampling tools. It’s a great feeling, one that I treasure. His latest track, “Kill or Be Killed,” is another example of this sort of feeling.
Featuring RJ Payne and Skyzoo, “KoBK” is visceral, anti-mainstream foolishness and anti-musical BS with its bars. The track plays like a boombap version of Wayne’s “show me my opponent [eating noises]/done with my opponent” line. It thumps hard with the drum hits, the melody is engaging and the bars are what you’d expect from legends. You want some hip-hop that’ll give you the screwface while also making you remember that the mainstream isn’t the only place to see good music? You know what to do. Check this one out below and support dope music in all its forms.
