James Gardin Presents “You Got It”

A song that blends disco, funk (specifically tasty basslines) and hip-hop, James Gardin’s “You Got It” is a tribute to those who strive to win and look good doing it. “You Got It” provides “hey beautiful, keep shining” lyrics as well as “don’t let anyone stop you from winning or having fun” ones. That combination grabbed me about this song and allowed me to vibe with it even more.

I specifically like the second verse and the overall production on the track. It feels like a Kanye track from his Graduation era, in its energy, while also giving Anderson. Paak vibes and a pinch of Pharrell. Sadly, there’s no Pharrell falsetto. But Gardin makes up for it with the way everything blends together to create this smorgasbord of positivity. Gardin has a great presence on the track. It allows for his words, vocals and flows to be both pretty damn amazing sonically and inspirational.

My main thing is that the song itself makes you want to hear a third verse. But when you have a song like this? You take what you can get your hands on and say “thank you” to the artist. Long story short, Gardin’s got a hit with this one. If you haven’t heard it yet, what are you waiting for (besides for me to talk about the song)?
