LnO Takes “No Breaks” on New Song

I just received a new cut from Seattle-born artist LnO, a song entitled “No Breaks.” The first thing I’ve got to say is, overall, the song is a big “wow.” What I mean is that the brother sounds like a mix between Nipsey Hussle and Blu circa Below the Heavens and the Johnson&Jonson album with his authenticity, a bit of Mixtape Cole with the punchlines, and early-era Drake with the flow. That works heavily in LnO’s favor, since Mixtape Drake was my favorite of the Canadian superstar’s iterations. That’s beside the point, though, as we’re not here to talk about Drake.

On the song “No Breaks,” we receive thought-provoking lyrics that are interpersonal and wide-ranging. In doing so, we get a song that speaks with and to listeners, not at them, like some interpersonal songs can get (speaking from experience on that one). LnO speaks on his growth over the years, the changes he’s seen and experienced (both with people and within himself) and reminding us all of one thing. We can slow down, but we can never become stagnant. When we become stagnant and stuck in mediocrity and negativity, we tend to fall apart. On top of the introspection and reflection, the beauty of “No Breaks” lies in its rhymes and its beat, a sped-up sample-based instrumental that lends itself well to what LnO is doing on this one.

If you need something that’ll help you get through the day while also keeping your grinding to a maximum output level, this one’s definitely for you. Check it out below, be sure to (if you like “No Breaks”) check out LnO’s Saquon EP, and remember to support dope music in all its forms.
