Chaz Marcus’ “All the Way Down” is like cuddling after hot sex and cold wine. It’s smooth, it’s loving, it’s bright, it’s vivid and it just feels good (and may lead to more boinking). However, he doesn’t leave his partner hanging like a clothesline. Instead, Marcus (along with collaborators Ryan Toby and Al Sherrod) sweetly sings to his lady about how much he cares, loves and needs her. In a word, I was astounded by how this one sounds like a radio hit but doesn’t feel like one. What I mean is that it’s a banger, but there’s heart and soul behind it, not just a bunch of vague appeals to everyone listening. “If you’re not here to hear about love and happy, warm feelings, get up on outta here” is what the lyrics, melodies and overall vibe say to me. I enjoyed that it has a dancehall feel to it as well.
All in all, this is a summer jam for your girl/guy/partner. It’s the type of track you play to be sexy and fun and maybe feel on your shawty’s butt. I mean, the summer’s perfect for love, even with buns and fun. If you feel like I feel and want to cuddle up, love on your shawty and just enjoy them–physically, mentally, and emotionally–check this one out below and remember to support dope music in all its forms.
