Introverts, we’re actually pretty damn pleasant to be around. The thing is that because we’re so chill and pleasant, that makes some gravitate towards us. However, as many of you know, introverts don’t really like crowds or people all in their face. Why? Call it a mix of trauma, laidback attitudes and intuition about people. Unfortunately, that sometimes means that us introverts self-isolate when it’s not wholly needed. It’s a dual-edged sword, if I’ve ever seen one.
On his latest anthemic cut, “Intuition,” Jthurston delves into two specific questions:
- What makes an introvert and…
- Are introverts sometimes victims of our guarded nature?
We don’t just get answers here, though. J opts to give a case study of sorts on what it means to be introverted in 2025. Production-wise, it reminds me of a mix between “Goosebumps”-era Travis Scott and Kid Cudi. Lyrically, in addition to the case study, we get two parts of the overall story. One paints introversion as something great, albeit limiting. The other kind of leans more into the idea that being too guarded, too reserved, and too quick to dip out can negatively impact one’s mental and physical health. Let’s be honest: introverts don’t like drama. It drains our social battery quicker than going out to a crowded event. However, by letting things happen around us (and, in some ways, shut it out), it creates more chaos and drama than what would’ve otherwise been. If you want a look into the live of an introvert trying to make it in a world of high demand and high social battery usage events, I think this one is for you.
