Moorshotz Doesn’t Want to Be “Without You”

If you need a quick journey into love with an Afrobeats tinge, Moorshotz’s “Without You” is perfect for just that. A song that clocks in at about two-and-a-half minutes, “Without You” finds the Nigerian-based artist giving an intimate look at his love life and his special someone. That person has helped bring additional joy and light into his life. The end result is a song that gives Moorshotz’s lover their flowers, while also planting more seeds and bulbs for their future together.

It’s a very smooth, highly sensual sound and feel on the production and vocal side of things. It comes in, presents its main focus (love is beautiful and the focus of Moorshotz’s love and affection is worthy of that and then some) and then ends nicely without overstaying in any way. Additionally, Moorshotz’s vocals are velvety smooth and also warm. They wrap you up in love and embrace you while you embrace the idea of love and how it can make you do things you didn’t think possible (like falling for someone). Finally, there’s one thing about “Without You,” that is kind of an oddity. That is, it makes me want to dance, love on someone, and do a little bit of weekend cleaning.

I more so mean that it’s a song that’ll give you life. I think that’s because it’s laidback with its messaging as well as its overall production, but still engaging. It’s very sensual, but also not overly sexual. It’s full of love, but not overbearingly so. We get beautiful music, but there’s weight to what we hear here. Even if listeners aren’t laser focused, they can gain a lot of takeaways from the song.

I think that Afrobeats and Afrobeats-adjacent tracks are perfect for that sort of thing: having some fun, chilling out and getting some semblance of “work” in at the same time. They’re like smoker’s anthems without the weed (usually). You can listen to some of the genres’ selections at any time and feel some sort of warmth and calm. Overall, “Without You” is one you should check out and perhaps add to a playlist or two. The phrase “something for everyone” is a cliched one, but “Without You” does have something for just about any type of music fan.
