Robo the Chemist is a house producer and instrumentalist who utilizes AI and human-made instrumentation and sound to create his music. I’ll admit, I was skeptical when I read the “utilizes AI…” part of his pitch as well. However, he uses his own skills and tools far more than the algorithm. Robo takes a brief AI sequence and create everything else within the song and around the sequence. This includes synths and other instrumentation, along with his own sound engineering and sound design. This is done through a user-helmed DAW platform. And that’s how we’re here today with Robo the Chemist’s “Party With You.”

What he does on “Party With You” is take the sound of house and mesh it with R&B. The end result is a song that’s infectious and fun. “Party” makes me feel good and makes me want to dance. Even though I have old man feet versus two left ones, I want to dance my pain away. Sometimes, you need to let loose and let the music take control. It reminds me of a mix between contemporary R&B, house, and ’90s hip-hop. In other words, something I would’ve heard on the radio as a kid. For that alone, I applaud RTC’s creativity here.
