Kecs Dbeats Presents “Blow the Trombones”

Kecs Dbeats’ “Blow the Trombones” reminds me of B.o.B. in his early run for the production choice. That’s because the artist opted for something unique but also a bass-heavy knocker. It combines pop rap with a slight trunkrattler. A trombone-heavy beat allows Kecs to bounce around, which gives us high-energy moments aplenty. Lyrically and flow-wise, the German rapper gives some huge Childish Gambino vibes, circa Because The Internet. He also reminds me a bit of that late 2000s, early 2010s rap era where there were so many diverse sounds. It’s kind of hard to put this song neatly into one category. I think that’s the beauty of it.

Clocking in at just over two minutes, I’d often pass on a track of this length. However, the energy and the lyricism on display on this alt-pop rap song said “Speed, listen and post about this.” That’s some pretty high praise. Remember, I often pass on songs under 2:30. Many feel too short and/or feel incomplete. Overall, it’s something that’ll get you hyped but also make you feel calm and ready for the world. Check it out and support dope music in all its forms.
