I’m proud of TOPE, as he’s been consistently improving his craft in the short time I’ve known him. This one is no exception as the “summertime in Cali”-themed single also doubles as a how-to guide for other indie artists. Over a pretty sick instrumental from Zach Striar, TOPE delivers some of the dopest bars I’ve heard from him and does the Dom Kennedy sample justice by, again, providing a how-to guide for artists trying to survive. The duality of this track (there’s a lot of that going around these days and I LOVE it) makes it a late-summer banger and a year-round must-hear.
