He’s trying to figure out love and lust while still trying to find his bearings as an artist. Over a thickly-layered instrumental, Arjay’s “Better Than You” speaks on his current situation and his desire to upgrade from the woman he’s currently involved with. The vocals are great and don’t rely on Auto-Tune to get their point across, either. So, that’s a win (even though I love Auto-Tuned bars at times, sometimes it’s better to hear non-altered vocals). Additionally, it’s a catchy song with a message many folks can relate to.
