This is the first I’ve heard FreshfromDE, a Delaware artist who recently popped up on my radar. If he keeps this same trap-meets-conscious energy, I’m here for it. Collaborating with Boston’s Michael Christmas, “Indigo Children” takes the vibes you’d get from a Lupe or a Kendrick and adds a melodic element to it while still discussing a higher plane of existence. I had to rewind this track a few times, because it’s that damned good. It’s catchy, but still maintains some knowledge within in the bars. Plus, the instrumental is menacing but still calm.
