Cordae may’ve removed the YBN from his name, but he’s still a young boss delivering good music. Today, he dropped “Gifted” featuring Roddy Ricch. A track that speaks on the come-up, Cordae and Ricch go line for line in a melodic sort of way that’s refreshing but still familiar. Ricch’s voice is both an instrument and instrumental in making this track go as hard as it does. Both artists complement each other’s styles, but it’s something about hearing Roddy Ricch go off that always makes me nod my head like “yeah bruh get that shit.” My only grievance is that the song could’ve gone a bit longer, because it was in its bag and then it ends in under three minutes. Then again, it doesn’t overstay its welcome that way. Either way, I’m happy for young rap leaders hopping on the same track.
