Let’s Talk “DDLG” by ppcocaine

(Ed. Note: This post is not exactly safe-for-work. Also edited to reflect ppcocaine’s actual nickname “trapbunnybubbles”)

So, I’m old in the sense that I don’t really get TikTok. I’m in my early 30s and don’t have a Jason DeRulo body, so I don’t stay on it. Hell, even if I did have a 12-pack, I’d probably not be on TikTok. I try to stay up on it because my oldest is getting to that age where he’s going to start trying to get into social media, but that’s it. With that in mind, I got an email today from someone talking about a song featuring ppcocaine, who is big on TikTok. The song, “Rugrat” by YVS Village, is due out tomorrow on DSPs.

However, since I don’t know TikTok, my first comment was “who the hell is that?”

I asked around and didn’t really find much. In fact, I asked True and he also asked “who tf is that?” Exacerbated in my search, I pull up Snapchat and saw an article about her. I guess Apple’s listening to my conversations she’s just that viral. Me, being a music journalist, I dove into her biggest track. That would be “DDLG,” a song about a Daddy Dom/little girl sexcapade. Yes, the capitalization is important for those among the readership who’re vanilla. It’s okay, though. Get it how you live.

The “biggest brat” starts off the song parodying “I’m a Little Teapot” in a way that may make some of the “WAP” fans blush. Then, she goes off for two-plus minutes about how she wants her cheeks clapped by her lover, among other things. It, in a few words, plays like 2 Live Crew for the Euphoria generation. She raps like Angelica from Rugrats mixed with Raven Felix mixed with Esther Dean on “I Think I Love Her,” except Suzie isn’t coke this time. No, Suzie/trapbunnybubbles is a young woman who wants to get her back blown out by her female DD.

It’s a song that is like a completely inappropriate-for-children earworm; it burrowed in and had me laughing at lines like “for you? I’ma let you hit for free.” In a summer dominated by sex-positive anthems, “DDLG” stands out to me since it fully embraces sexuality, LGBTQ positivity as well as kinks. Should we really be surprised that music has taken this turn? No. In fact, I’m here for it. Let’s talk dirty–especially if it allows us to have open conversations about what turns us on and all that. People are more open about their desires these days, so the music we hear represents that. I mean, we had Lil’ Kim back in the day talking about how she wants to get laid, Chris Brown openly singing about squirting on the radio back in 2011 and “WAP” is a banger nine years after that. Let’s not act surprised that sex and sexuality are big players in the ways we consume and get music now more than ever.

I just wish that people who don’t understand the DD/lg dynamic would research it before they label it as “promoting pedophilia.” It doesn’t. Trust me on this. If it’s between two consenting adults, there’s nothing wrong with some roleplay or kinky sex. Like I said, get it how you live.

I’m just glad we don’t have people saying ppcocaine is problematic for racial reasons. Don’t fuck up, okay?

  1. You can say it’s not pedophilia, and I won’t say it is, but the definition of it in http://www.dictionary.com is: “DDLG, or DD/LG, is an acronym for daddy dom/little girl, a sexual relationship where the dominant male is the daddy figure and a woman plays the role of a young girl.” I don’t know what about “plays the role of a young girl” doesn’t strike you as weird. I’m all for living a kinky life as a responsible adult, and age regression, but DD/lg promotes the sexualization of children though sexualizing a person roleplaying as a child.

There’s no other way to spin it. You are roleplaying. As a young child. For sex. Either someone’s getting off on you being a young child, or you’re getting off on being treated like one. In that case, go to therapy.

    1. Hi Dan, thanks for reading. I personally think the DD/lg dynamic can be a bit wonky and is right up on that gray area. Ppcocaine is also 18/19 and her partner isn’t much older from what I’ve read. That’s besides the point, though.

I think most people who practice it or any age regression kink aren’t straight-up pedos, even if someone’s getting off on the young/old dynamic. I’ve known folks who’ve practiced the kink who weren’t doing so as an “oh I love children sexually” sort of thing. They more so were doing it like your run of the mill age regression role play. Of course, I’m not saying there aren’t people out there who do get off on it in that dark way, but the folks I’ve been around and know who’ve done it don’t. I do appreciate your comment, opinion and maturity on the matter because it’s one of those highly-debatable things that can rile people up and I damn sure don’t want to turn my site into a breeding ground for controversial commentary, trolling, etc.

Again thanks for reading and I hope this piece hadn’t soured you on the SOTB experience.
