Damien Sebe Presents Cloudy, With a Chance of Loneliness

Another day, another new producer hits my ears with something beautiful. Today, I’ve got South African producer Damien Sebe giving us lo-fi sadboy vibes with “cloudy, with a chance of loneliness.” Now, don’t take my “sadboy” comment as snark. In fact, that’s probably the only way I can describe this one without giving too much away on its sound. Featuring a sparse guitar melody with some boombappy drums, Sebe paints a picture of darkness and isolation through his beat. If anyone tells you that beat tapes can’t tell stories, songs like these prove that logic to be incorrect.

What sets this one apart from many new era lo-fi tracks is that, for me, I feel the emotion through every second versus just a bit throughout the song. I feel as if I understand Sebe’s life and those around him a bit better through this track. Music is powerful that way sometimes. Check out the song above and remember to support dope music in all its forms.
